The masjid app
Congregants add your masjid to their phone's home screen straight from your public page — no app store, no account, and it still opens offline with the last prayer times it saw.
How people get it
The app is your public page (wemasjid.com/m/your-slug) installed as a home-screen icon. It works on iPhone and Android today — nothing to download from a store.
- A congregant scans the Get the app QR on the TV slide, the Widgets card or the printed poster.
- It opens your public page and shows an install sheet — “Add Al-Noor to your phone — prayer times, Jumu'ah, announcements and giving, one tap away. Works offline.”
- On Android there's an Install button; on iPhone it walks through Share → Add to Home Screen step by step.
- Done — your logo sits on their home screen and the app opens straight to today's times.
If they're already on the page, the “Add this page to your home screen” note at the bottom of the Times tab does the same thing.
Putting it in front of people
- “Get our app” slide — add it to a playlist; it shows a QR people scan in the prayer hall, plus the three steps.
- Widgets card — Admin → Widgets → “Get the app” has the same QR and link to share on WhatsApp or Facebook.
- A4 poster — the Widgets card links to a printable poster for the noticeboard: QR, three steps, your name and logo.
What it looks like installed
It opens in its own window (no browser bars) with your masjid's name, theme colour and logo as the icon — the icon is generated from the logo on your Branding page, or the WeMasjid mark if you haven't uploaded one yet.
Offline
Once it's been opened, the app keeps working with no signal — it shows the last prayer times and content it fetched until it can reach the internet again.
Native apps — coming
App Store and Google Play listings are in the works. When they're published the install sheet gains native badges automatically and the PWA keeps working for everyone else — the apps will land on the same page, so no links change and the public page stays the hub.
